EMMA CASSON IN THE BBC ARCHIVES RESEARCHING FOR OUR PROGRAMME
ABOUT BBC LOCAL RADIO’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY, 2017
We were successful for the second year running at the 2017 New York Awards picking up a gold for our BBC Radio 4 programme Thelma & Michael – Love In The Cutting Room following 2016’s silver for Sinatra in the UK 1953, a documentary for BBC Radio 2 hosted by Leo Green. We are currently working on a major project for BBC English Regions, telling the story of the first 8 local radio stations, which will be broadcast on all 40 current stations on Nov 5th as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations. We’ve produced a series of essays for BBC Radio 3, with David Hepworth which will air in October and we’ll be in the USA in September working on a BBC Radio 4 documentary about the Songwriting With Soldiers project where singers and composers work with veterans suffering from PTSD. In 2016 we made shows for BBC Radio 4 including Bottom Gear with Jane Garvey and for BBC World Service about the popularity of reggae music in Poland. For BBC Radio commissions we are part of the Folder&Co group.
